About Us...
A Place to Worship
Calvary Temple of Christ is a place where anyone, no matter what background you
have, can come and worship the Almighty God. God has anointed CTC to lead people
in his presence.

The
Word of God
We believe that having a personal relationship with God is the most important
thing in our lives. The Word of God helps us to understand God and to know him
on a deeply intimate level. The teaching of the Word is very important to us
here at CTC. You will see that we place much emphasis on the teaching of the
word and equipping the saints for ministry.

Why
and How CTC Started
The Lord placed it in the heart of Tyrone and Lisa Jones in March of 1993
to plant a church that will focus on the simple truths of the Word and that
build healthy disciples. Tyrone was leading a bible study that was not
associated with his home church that gathered people who were young in faith and
were searching for houses of worship. At his home church, Tyrone had recently
resigned as youth minister. After a season of prayer and initial direction, CTC
was launched on July 4, 1993. Partnering with Tyrone and Lisa was Willie and
Cherie Johnson and Scott and Rhonda Johnson.
The first 9 months of the church's existence was held in a
building off of Avenue B and Eighth Street. In April 1994 CTC moved to a vacant
church building on 14th Avenue and 5th Street; this sufficed for 8 months. In
November 1994 CTC was located in the Alarcon Center on 3E, directly across the
street from the MCAS Main Gate, which was suitable until July 1995 when we moved
into a metal shed across the street. The work that was required was not
completed until January 1996. In the meantime, Rev. Tom Phillips and the vestry
of St. Paul's Episcopal Church graciously allowed us to use their sanctuary for
our services.
In 2003 CTC was blessed with 10 acres of a 20 acre parcel on
County 13, between Ave 3E and 4E. The building has just been completed and our
first corporate service was held on August 20th. The facility is a 24,000 square
feet 2 story building that will house sanctuary attendance of 600. The building
is also designed to expand to 1,200 with accommodations for a school, missions
training center, and Bible college.
